About Harvi

A web-based cardiovascular simulator, in development for over 30 years, paired with online textbooks for students, advanced physiology and ECMO. Guided tutorials let you change preload, afterload, contractility, valves, shunts and support devices and watch the pressure-volume loops, pressure tracings and flows respond. The heart chambers are modeled as time-varying elastances inside an electrical-circuit model of the circulation.

What it does

  • Pressure-volume loops for all four chambers in real time
  • Valve stenosis and regurgitation, ASD and VSD
  • VA and VV ECMO, IABP and LV unloading
  • Student, Advanced and ECMO/MCS textbooks with tutorials
  • Try-It-Nows that isolate one principle at a time
  • Student and ECMO books in 9 languages

Updates and mentions

  1. Used to teach P-V loops, cardiogenic shock and MCS hemodynamics at the Chicago Hemodynamic Forum. See it
